We also understand that, in the new century, simply knowing something no longer creates an advantage. In this century of continuous and rapid change, reputable organisations also confirm that the factors that create an advantage are skills rather than theoretical knowledge. Taking this into account, we develop our students’ skills, especially those known as 21st-century skills, and prepare them for future competition.

What are 21st-century skills?

The World Economic Forum describes these skills in three categories:

Foundational literacies  
Competencies 
Character qualities 

Foundational literacies show how students apply core skills in everyday tasks. These skills serve as a foundation for students and make it possible to develop more advanced and important competencies and character qualities. They include not only reading and numeracy, but also scientific literacy, ICT literacy, financial literacy, and cultural and civic literacy. Traditional education has mainly focused on acquiring these skills, but today they are considered the foundation for developing 21st-century skills.

Competencies describe how students approach complex challenges. For example, critical thinking is the ability to clarify, analyse, and evaluate situations, ideas, and information in order to solve problems. 

Creativity is the ability to imagine and find innovative ways of approaching problems, answering questions, or applying knowledge in different ways.

Communication and collaboration involve sharing information and working with others to solve problems. These competencies are considered essential for the 21st-century workforce, where critical analysis, knowledge sharing, and teamwork will become standard expectations.

Character qualities describe how students respond to a changing environment. In rapidly changing market conditions, qualities such as perseverance and adaptability ensure flexibility and success when facing obstacles.

Curiosity and initiative act as starting points for discovering new concepts and ideas. 

Leadership and social-cultural awareness involve building constructive forms of social, ethical, and cultural interaction with others.

These skills are considered essential for lifelong success in the 21st century. Our goal is to develop these skills in children from their school years and equip them with the knowledge and abilities that will help them become successful individuals.
