The film titled ‘Around the World

The Screen Presentation Competition has been arranged by our Center within the framework of the English Language Decade which started on May 2010.

The film titled ‘Around the World. Customs and Traditions” consisted of several short clips, which covered some traditions of the country they present. The event drew a great audience and warm response of the watching public.

The process of shooting was as interesting and informative as the film itself. The students (from the 3rd to 8th grades) represented their reel about the customs and traditions of different countries

The students of our Center set to work with great enthusiasm. Such countries as Japan, Nigeria, Greenland, Scotland, Spain, Egypt, Germany, India, Great Britain and Brazil were widely presented in the picture.

The guests from Embassies and Ministries   were invited to watch the joint effort of the ESL teachers and their students. Moreover, some of the guests were cordially invited to join our activity and to be on the Jury.

The representatives from the Japanese Embassy were surprised and gladden as their country was lightened twice and could not hide their rejoice during the whole presentation.

While watching the film one could notice how easily the children got the feel of their role, happily gain their knowledge and spoke English without any tense. The award ceremony was intriguing. The suspense among the audience achieved its high point.

The three winners were announced.

The third place was taken by the 5th R grade with the film about Egypt. The 8th R grade was given the second prize for the comic interpretation of the life of Nigeria and Greenland.

The third place was won by the students of the 6th A grade for the fascinating clip about the Country of the Rising Sun – Japan.

All grades participated in that activity were awarded with prizes and certificates.

We are looking forward for the next arrangements organized by the ESL Department as all the events carried out by these teachers led by the Head of the Department Ismayilova N.A. have always been notable for their novelty, interesting concepts and colorful performances.

Congratulations to the winners!
