The fourth grade pupils were eager to get together again and have fun on the New Year’s Eve. They were full of enthusiasm to sing songs and play games together.
And the DAY came!
The guests – teachers of English and other subjects came to watch the children’s performance. The pupils of 4a, 4r1 and 4r2 were divided into 5 mixed groups. Each group had a leader and a timekeeper.
The lesson started with a poem which was displayed on the screen. The pupils had to guess the title of the lesson by reading the poem and of course everybody learned it: "The New Year in English speaking countries and in Azerbaijan”.
Then the children answered the teacher’s questions about the New Year celebration in English speaking countries. Narmin Veliyeva, Aziz Gasimov, Hassan Bunyatsadeh told about the New Year celebration in Azerbaijan. Isa Allahverdiyev, Narmin Abdullazadeh and Ayan Najafova also spoke about the tradition of celebrating the New Year.
The children sang a New Year song together and then they worked in groups and wrote letters to Santa asking for presents. Murad Aliyev and Javid Babayev, Zahra Bunyatzadeh and Nigar Farzalibeyova were very active during this activity. Vusala Babayeva asked Santa to send her an English story book, Omar Buludov asked for a toy car.
The teacher prepared bright cards for them to write letters on and the pupils took them home.
Everybody enjoyed the song about the New Year Tree.
Ilaha khanum chose the song to sing with the pupils and the children learned it with pleasure.
The pupils of all three forms were given information about the DAY OF SOLIDARITY OF ALL AZERBAIJANIANS IN THE WORLD. They liked the slides shown on the screen and stood hand in hand demonstrating their solidarity.
At the end of the lesson the teacher gave them symbolic presents – stars and wished them to study well and become real “stars” in different fields of life and
prove that they are real XXI Century school students!
